Practice Kindness and Generosity

Boaz showed great kindness unto Ruth by sharing his food with her. He also taught his workers to show her respect and to help her gather the stalks. In Ruth 2: 14-16, it is stated:

“At mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come over here. Have some bread and dip it in the wine vinegar.” When she sat down with the harvesters, he offered her some roasted grain. She ate all she wanted and had some left over. As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, “Even if she gathers among the sheaves, don’t embarrass her. Rather, pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.”

Boaz’s kindness and generosity is something that we must all learn. If the world were to be filled with people like Boaz, nobody would have to steal, cheat, or even kill to make a living. Everybody would be looking out for one another and working towards the common good, instead of just for themselves.
