Greed

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)

The 8th commandment forbids greediness, which is a selfish and excessive desire for more of something, such as money, food, power, or possessions, than is needed. The reason why greed is considered a form of stealing is because it seeks to deprive others of their fair share. When one takes more than what is needed or hoards resources to himself, other people are cheated off their right to such resources.

In the Bible, there are several accounts that warn people against the sin of green. In Proverbs 28:25 it is written: “A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the Lord will be enriched.” The passage states that people should not be greedy. Instead, they should trust in the Lord that He will provide for each person all that they need.
