Foreordained to Be Great
Perhaps, many a time we have heard the phrase, “Many are called but few are chosen.” What does it mean?
When we were in the premortal existence, there existed a difference in glory. We all had our individual personalities magnified a hundred fold.
God knows His children. He knows our strengths and weaknesses even before we have been prepared to live this life on earth.
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)”
The Lord spoke to Jeremiah in these scriptures, but this message wasn’t only for him. It was for all of God’s children. He knew us before we came out of the womb and He had ordained us to our own individual callings.
He gave us a role to play. No matter how small or how big it is, that is our foreordination. Some people forego their foreordination by choosing not to follow Christ. There are great souls who pass up on their calling because they got too caught up in the world or were deceived by evil.
Let us fight against the tide of temptations buffeting our way, that the path may be clear and we will be able to travel the road that God wants us to. If we continue following Him, then we will know what we were foreordained to do in this world. Our purpose will be made more clear and we can contribute to this great and everlasting work of our Father in Heaven.
