“For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.” (Psalm 75:8 KJV)
It is important that Christians show gratitude for the gift of Jesus Christ. Jesus sacrificed everything in order to bring salvation to human kind. Even his body and blood were given up for the sake of salvation.
Unfortunately, many people belonging to the Church forget what it means to show gratitude. They may thank the Lord with their words, but their attitudes and actions speak otherwise. Christians whose deeds do not glorify the Lord are not being thankful for the sacrifice that is Jesus Christ, the symbolic Bread and Wine.
When a person partakes in the Bread and Wine, they need to remember that this is a precious gift. Just because Jesus’ body and blood had been given freely doesn’t excuse one from taking the Bread and Wine for granted. In order to show appreciation for this, one must act in ways that are pleasing to the Lord.
